Participants Guidelines
The Ride 4 Regent wants all riders to be safe on the road, here are some things to check and know before going out on your rides.
1. Arrive Early
Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the event to check in, warm up, and receive important race information.
2. Complete the Warm-Up
All participants are encouraged to join our 15-minute group warm-up before the run to help prevent injuries and prepare their bodies for activity.
3. Run at Your Own Pace
Whether you are participating in the 5K or 10K route, choose a pace that is comfortable for your fitness level. This is a community event, and everyone is welcome.
4. Stay on the Marked Route
For your safety, please follow all route signs, volunteers, and course marshals throughout the event.
5. Be Aware of Your Surroundings
The trail may be shared with walkers, cyclists, and other community members. Stay alert and be courteous to everyone using the path.
6. Keep Right, Pass Left
When passing another participant, announce yourself by saying “On your left” and pass safely.
7. Follow Volunteer Instructions
Race volunteers and organizers are present to keep everyone safe. Please follow their directions at all times.
8. Stay Hydrated
Drink water before, during, and after the run. Water stations will be available along the route and at the finish area.
9. Respect the Community and Environment
Please dispose of garbage properly and help us keep Regent Park and the Don Valley trails clean and welcoming for everyone.
10. Listen to Your Body
If you feel dizzy, unwell, or injured, stop running and notify a volunteer or event staff member immediately.
11. Children Must Be Supervised
Participants under 16 years of age should be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or designated adult.
12. Headphones Are Discouraged
If using headphones, keep the volume low enough to hear volunteers, emergency instructions, and other trail users.
13. Pets Must Remain Under Control
Well-behaved pets are welcome where permitted, but they must remain leashed and under the owner’s control at all times.
14. Celebrate and Encourage Others
Race 4 Regent is about community, hope, and supporting our neighbours. Encourage fellow participants and help create a welcoming atmosphere for everyone.
15. Have Fun!
Whether you’re running your first 5K, walking with friends, or challenging yourself with the 10K, thank you for supporting Church in Regent Park and helping us continue serving our community through weekly meals and outreach programs.
