Welcome to Church in Regent Park!
We’re glad that you found our website and that you’re thinking of visiting. Here’s some info you might be looking for:
Location and Time
We gather every Sunday afternoon at 3:30pm for our worship services. We meet in the gymnasium of Nelson Mandela Park School (440 Shuter St., Toronto ON).
There are two entrances you can use:
- One on Shuter St. (near Sumach and Shuter)
- One on St. David St. by the school parking lot (#11 behind small playground)
We also live-stream our Sunday services – visit our YouTube channel if you want to watch some of our previous services.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are your church services like?
Each week, we begin with a time of musical worship in a contemporary style. We have a short time for prayer and announcements before a 10-minute coffee break where you can grab a snack and chat with the people around you. After the break, you’ll hear a relevant message from the Bible and we’ll conclude with a short time of song and prayer. The service is about 75 minutes long in total.
I have questions about parking and transportation.
There is a small parking lot behind the school on St. David St. that we are able to use free of charge on Sundays. Otherwise, there is plenty of street parking in the nearby neighbourhood.
If you don’t drive, you’re in good company! We are located very close to the TTC 505 Dundas streetcar route and the 65 Parliament bus route.
What should I wear?
Feel free to wear whatever clothes you feel most comfortable in! Some people dress up a little, many people stay casual. We care more that you’re here than about what you wear.
Are there programs for children?
Yes – Park Kids is for anyone aged 4-13! All children and youth stay with us for the first half of the service and are dismissed during the coffee break. Park Kids is split into two groups – an elementary-aged group for kindergarten through Grade 4, and a Jr. High group for Grades 5-8.
All of our Park Kids leaders are experienced and have received training and gone through Police Checks.
High school students are encouraged to join us for the full worship service – but we occasionally have fun events for the older youth after our services. Babies and toddlers are also welcome to join us – and if you need to step out with your little one for a few minutes, there is plenty of space to go at the back of the gymnasium or in the hallways.
If you have more questions, contact Pastor Ashley, our Children’s Pastor, at ashley@cirptoronto.ca.
Do you have any other programs during the week?
We have two life groups starting in September:
1. In-person LifeGroup on Saturday evenings starting September 7.
2. Zoom LifeGroup on Wednesday evenings (date to be determined).
We also have a community meal and clothing bank every Saturday.
